RESCHEDULE OF UGAT AND GAT (13 September 2018)

In anticipation of Typhoon Ompong which will affect the Philippines this week, the schedule of the Undergraduate Assessment Test (UgAT) and the MPM Graduate Admission Test (GAT) for local applicants has been moved from 15 September 2018 to 22 September 2018. Please be guided of the new schedule:

    Undergraduate Assessment Test (UgAT)

    22 September 2018

    8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

    Graduate Admission Test (GAT)

    22 September 2018

    2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Further instructions about the test venues will be released by the Office of University Registrar (OUR). All examinees are advised to keep the electronic test permit previously sent via email.

For clarifications, email the Admissions Section at (229) 456-5853.

In line with Memo No. CMDPB 2018-008 (read 718-233-5937) where the learning centers (LC) will now operate under a reconceptualized set-up and will be reconstituted as mega learning hubs (MLH), reference to learning centers is no longer applicable.

Students will no longer be identified as belonging under a particular LC but will be tagged as either local-based (Philippines) or offshore-based (abroad), primarily for exam administration purposes. Student support services previously assigned to LC Coordinators will now be distributed to various offices such as Office of the University Registrar, Faculty Offices (including the Program Chairs), Office of Student Affairs and other units in UPOU.

Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (FREE TUITION)(25 July 2018)

The UP Open University is implementing RA No. 10931 known as the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of 2017” and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) which was approved and signed on 22 February 2018.

All undergraduate students (AA, BAMS, BES) are being evaluated for eligibility to the free tuition privilege based on the admission and retention policies of the university. Eligible students will be tagged in the online registration system as exempted from paying tuition and other school fees for the 1st Trimester 2018-2019. Students with financial capacity may voluntarily opt out by paying tuition and other school fees by filling out the Voluntary Opt Out Online Form

Continuing students who failed to complete their undergraduate programs within a year after the period prescribed in the program are no longer eligible.
